Roger Waters headlined on Saturday 1st July and performed Pink Floyd’s legendary ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ album as part of his set. Released in March 1973, the ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ album is widely regarded by critics and fans alike as Pink Floyd’s masterpiece – the album spent a record 28 YEARS in the American album chart. This was Waters’ only British performance of ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ during 2006. A amazing light show and a truly unforgettable evening. Texas also performed on the Saturday. The Band: |
Nick Mason was drumming with Roger in Hyde Park. This is the third gig where Nick has agreed to team up with Roger on his 2006 tour.
The first set featured an overview of Roger's musical career, including selections from throughout his time with Pink Floyd and songs from his solo album "Amused to Death." Elaborate staging was designed by Mark Fisher, complete with projections, and a full, 360 degree quadraphonic sound system. All European venues with the exception of Reykjavik were open air. A number of the North America venues are under cover. |
Lisbon Tour News, from someone who was there talking about the second half. "After Dark Side, the encore was absolutely amazing. Roger and the band came to the stage and then, “Ein, Zwei, Drei!!” a pyrotechnic display in the stage and the crowd were mad: with hands in the air and throats singing - In The Flesh, Vera, Bring the Boys and finally, Comfortably Numb, where the pyrotechnic display and large fire display was an unforgettable moment."
